Military Family Forum I: Monday, October 14, 2019, 1400-1600 EDT, “Today’s Army Spouse: Addressing Life’s Challenges.”
This forum will provide an overview of research from the past ten years on Military Family Readiness. Ms. Carra Sims will speak about the RAND Report – Today’s Army Spouse Survey. It will set the stage for a candid panel discussion on programs and services that seek to enhance family readiness. The panel members will discuss changes to Army policy regarding Soldier and Family Readiness Groups, the importance of Army spouses connecting with other Army spouses, behavioral health for spouses and children, and access to resources.

Military Family Forum II: Tuesday, October 15, 2019, 0900-1015 EDT, “Spouse Employment & Financial Readiness.”
Military Spouse Employment (or lack thereof) has recently gained National attention. Join us for a frank discussion on what the Department of Defense, the Federal Government, and private organizations are doing to support military spouses in their career aspirations. The federal hiring process, spouse preference, home-based business policy, and childcare challenges and changes will all be discussed.

Military Family Forum III: Tuesday, October 15, 2019, 1030 – 1145 EDT, “Army Housing & PCS Moves.”
Speakers include GEN Perna, CG, AMC; ACSIM; G-1 and SDDC/G-4. Attendees will hear updates on Army Housing and PCS Moves.

AUSA Family Forum IV: Tuesday, October 15, 2019, 1500 – 1630 EDT, “Army Senior Leader Town Hall”
This popular open forum allows direct interaction with the Secretary of the Army (TBD), the Chief of Staff of the Army (GEN Jim McConville), and the Sergeant Major of the Army (SMA Michael Grinston). We also will introduce the 2019 AUSA Volunteer Family of the Year.
