SCOPE AND OBJECTIVE

The growing AUSA Global Force Symposium and Exposition combines the interests and ideas of Warfighters and Senior Army Leaders with the spirit of entrepreneurial and commercial leaders of the Defense Industrial Base and their Small Business partners. The symposium increasingly adds Academia participation to provide a professional leader development forum that allows participants to learn, network, and move our Army forward through the enlightenment of our human capital, the showcasing of emerging technologies, and the betterment of our force through partnerships with leading industry and academic institutions.

The theme for this year’s event, “Building Readiness for Today and Tomorrow” provides a central focus to discuss different aspects of readiness for an unpredictable global security environment out to the year 2025 and beyond. This progression must enable our Soldiers to immediately succeed across a wide spectrum of land power operations and ensure that Army forces retain the technological advantage.

In response to an increasingly volatile world, the proliferation of advanced technologies, and extreme resource constraints, the Army must find ways to build and return readiness to the force, continue to strive for innovation, and integrate the training, maintaining, and acquisition processes that will help our Army divest obsolete equipment, maintain ready and relevant systems and platforms, and acquire the necessary technology and equipment to enable our forces for today and tomorrow.

This symposium will explore and showcase the increasing ways that current and emerging technologies contribute to building Army Readiness through soldier training, platform modernization, and leadership development. Emphasis will be provided to show how the critical contributions of a robust and capable Organic Industrial Base tie to Army materiel modernization efforts to ensure and build Army Readiness. Support to our Soldiers will continue to be balanced, focused, and technologically superior to any Army in the world. Senior Army, DoD and Industry leaders will provide dialog and information on the progress of our efforts to modernize and sustain the force and more importantly, win on any battlefield.

The key objective of AUSA’s Global Force Symposium and Exposition will be to provide an open forum for attendees to interact and participate in discussions about the Army efforts to Build Readiness and the immediate needs of our Soldiers in harm’s way. Participants will be available for challenging questions from the audience.
